Auslan Educational Interpreter (ES)

An Auslan Educational Interpreter is required to join our fantastic team at Dandenong & Ringwood in providing communication assistance and interpreting spoken information in classrooms and other activities for students who are Deaf. St Mary's College Dandenong Campus works in partnership with St John’s Regional College, and the Ringwood campus works in partnership with Aquinas College

Child Safety

The successful applicant will:

  1. Be familiar with and comply with the school's child-safe policy and code of conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety
  2. Assist in the provision of a child-safe environment for students
Commencing 20th April 2026 to 24th June 2026

Dandenong (within St John’s Regional College) - Monday and Tuesday

Ringwood (within Aquinas College) - Wednesday

The successful applicant:

  • Can perform the role of an Auslan Educational Interpreter in secondary school settings.
  • Has some awareness of deafness, and the educational and social needs of deaf students.
  • Has the ability to adjust their communication styles to match individual deaf students.
  • Is flexible in duties undertaken and able to work as a member of a team.
  • Holds or is willing to obtain a Working with Children Check card and Police Record check.

Formal qualifications including NAATI certification is not required. However, a reasonable level of proficiency in Auslan is necessary.
