A high-spirited day of sport and friendship...

Primary deaf sports day is a highly anticipated annual sporting event for deaf and hard-of-hearing primary students from schools across Victoria, Australia. It is an opportunity to bring DHH children to compete in track and field events like running, long jump and vortex, while also socializing and making new friends.

Deaf Sports Victoria took the lead in organizing this event, supported by Auslan interpreters and many Deaf volunteers.

Our younger students engaged in a variety of fun activities such as running under a parachute, sack race and frisbee. St Mary’s College for the deaf came sixth and proudly represented our school on this high spirited occasion. Many friendships rekindled and new connections formed across the day.
